A party ready maxi dress can be perfect for weddings, brunches and any celebrations you may have in the warm months. Dress it up with heels or down with flats, depending on the events. Being petite is not easy to find maxi dresses that fit perfectly without hemming, but the extra effort is totally worth it.

For petite ladies, I suggest choosing maxi dresses with a solid color or with small patterns. You may want to avoid big patterns, because that can make you look even shorter.

When I found this maxi dress, it had a tailoring tag on that read "4 inches up". Bingo - this thrifted maxi dress was hemmed to my height! You bet I felt really lucky that day. Block Heels

I love block heels. Compared to slim heels, they feel sassier, sturdier, and in my eyes, more practical. These heels look well made and are comfortable to walk in. They go with everything in my closet, and I plan to make a lot of use out of them. Franco Sarto is not a sustainability focused brand, but I purchased this pair from Nordstrom Rack after trying them on. Mostly, I buy from secondhand or ethical sources as this is my preference. However, there are times when I do make exceptions for various reasons.
